As the weather changes and the temperature begins to drop, our bodies can feel the difference and start developing pain around the joints area. Taking care of our joints and health in general during winter is very essential. It is a known fact that our joints ache when the temperature drops. Here is why the change in temperature causes pain in our joints. The barometric pressure or the pressure of the air, along with humidity, temperature and precipitation cause the joints to ache. Therefore, during the rainy season as well there are chances of getting bouts of pain in the joints. It is believed that people suffering from arthritis are sensitive to the changes in air, i.e. barometric pressure. When the cartilage that cushions the bones inside a joint is worn away, nerves in the exposed bones become affected by the changes in pressure.
